This "Ureshino Tea (Steamed Tamaryokucha), 80g" is a traditional specialty from Ureshino, Saga Prefecture, carefully selected by "Obara Harukaen," a long-established tea merchant founded in 1875.
Unlike standard sencha, where tea leaves are rolled into needles, "Tamaryokucha" is characterized by its rounded, curled shape. By preserving this curled leaf structure, the tea's inherent flavor is concentrated, gently unfolding in the teapot to release a deep richness and mellow umami.
With every sip, you will enjoy the refreshing, crisp aroma nurtured by Ureshino's lush nature, followed by a refined, lingering aftertaste. It is perfect for daily enjoyment, for hosting guests, or as a supreme cup to brighten your post-meal moments.
The elegant Japanese-style package (80g) protects the tea's delicate quality from light and moisture, preserving its fresh aroma and flavor for a long time. It is an excellent choice for daily home use, as a small gift for tea lovers, a souvenir, or a Japanese specialty gift.
Recommended for those who:
・Want to taste authentic, traditional steamed Tamaryokucha (Guri-cha) from Ureshino.
・Are looking for a green tea with little astringency, deep richness, and a fragrant aroma.
・Want to enjoy high-quality Japanese tea daily after meals or during relaxing moments.
・Are seeking safe, additive-free, 100% domestically grown tea leaves.
・Want to give a thoughtful, carefully selected gift from a long-standing Kyoto/Osaka tea merchant.
Recommended Brewing Method
・【Brewing in a teapot】
1. Put the appropriate amount of tea leaves in a teapot (approx. 3g for 1 person, 6–8g for 3 people).
2. Pour in water cooled to 70°C–80°C (approx. 70–80mL per person).
3. Wait quietly for about 60 seconds, and pour evenly into teacups once the leaves have opened. (Pour until the very last drop to ensure a delicious second steep).
・【Cold Brew (Mizudashi)】
Add tea leaves (10–15g) to a bottle with cold water (1L) and let it extract slowly in the refrigerator for 3–4 hours. This brings out the sweetness and a cleaner, crisper flavor.
