This is "Umegashima Tea (80g)," a supreme green tea from "Umegashima," an unexplored region located deep in the upper reaches of the Abe River in the deepest part of Oku-Shizuoka, carefully selected and delivered by the long-established tea merchant "Obara Shunkaen," founded in 1875.

Known as the "highest altitude tea production area in Japan," the tea plantations of Umegashima are nestled at the foot of the Southern Alps, enveloped in a cool, refreshing climate where dense river and mountain mists linger morning and evening. The dramatic temperature fluctuations and the mist that naturally filters direct sunlight allow the tea leaves to store an abundance of umami components (theanine), resulting in exceptional sweetness and rich flavor with very little astringency.

This is authentic, handmade tea, painstakingly nurtured by local farmers. The moment you pour hot water into your teapot, a mellow and refreshing mountain aroma that evokes the scent of clear air rises, and each sip fills your mouth with elegant sweetness and depth.

Rare and seldom found on the market, this tea from a hidden region is perfect not only for your daily luxurious tea time but also for hosting guests or enjoying a special cup after a meal.

The elegant Japanese-style packaging (80g) protects the tea's delicate quality from light and humidity, keeping its freshly made aroma and deliciousness intact for a long time. It is a superb product that makes for a wonderful tea time at home, as well as an ideal special gift, souvenir, or present for tea lovers.

Recommended for those who:
・Want to taste rare, handmade tea grown in the "highest altitude production area" of Umegashima
・Want to enjoy the refreshing, mellow aroma and elegant sweetness brought by the river mist unique to mountain regions
・Are looking for authentic Japanese tea that has little astringency but plenty of depth and richness
・Want to enjoy a special domestic sencha after their daily meals or when entertaining guests
・Want to give a carefully selected, traditional tea from a merchant founded in 1875 as a gift or souvenir

Recommended Brewing Methods
・【Brewing in a Kyusu (Teapot)】
  1. Place an appropriate amount of tea leaves in a teapot (approx. 3g for 1 person, 6-8g for 3 people).
  2. Pour in water (approx. 80mL per person) that has been cooled to about 70°C–80°C.
  3. Wait quietly for about 60 seconds, then pour little by little into each cup to ensure equal strength. (Pouring until the very last drop will also ensure a delicious second infusion.)
・【Cold Brew】
Place the tea leaves (8-10g) in a bottle with cold water (1L) and let it steep slowly in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. This draws out the refreshing aroma and deep sweetness unique to Umegashima tea, resulting in a superb cold-brewed sencha.
