Recommended Preparation Methods
・【Premium Thin Tea (Usucha)】
1. Place two level scoops (approx. 1.5g–2g) of matcha into a tea bowl using a chashaku (bamboo scoop). (Sifting the matcha beforehand prevents clumping.)
2. Pour in about 70mL of water cooled to approximately 70–80°C.
3. Using a chasen (bamboo whisk), whisk quickly with a back-and-forth motion until a fine, creamy froth forms.
・【Authentic Thick Tea (Koicha)】
1. Place four scoops (approx. 3g–4g) of matcha into a tea bowl.
2. Pour in a small amount (approx. 30–40mL) of water at about 80°C.
3. Instead of whisking, use the chasen to knead the tea to break up any lumps, resulting in a rich, thick, and velvety premium koicha.
